A BRIEF HISTORY OF KIBONDO DIOCESE.
The diocese of Kibondo is relatively a new Diocese which was inaugurated on 29th of April 2012 under the first Bishop the RT. Rev. Sospeter T. Ndenza. The Diocese started with 10 Deaneries, and now there are 11. 30 parishes, now 37; 70 congregations now 81 with 26,556 Anglican Members. The Diocese started with 34 Clergy, now 46 with 80 catechists. The Diocese covers two Administrative areas of Kigoma Region, which are Kibondo District and a new district of Kakonko. The Diocese has an area of 16,058 SQ KM, which covers the two administrative districts, with a total population of about 450.000. In which comprises 6 divisions, 24 wards and 75 villages. Prior to April 29th 2012 the Diocese was part of the Diocese of Western Tanganyika. As such its history of Mission Development is the history of the Diocese of Western Tanganyika. The diocese has a Bible School, secondary school. The diocese has nine departments which are; Administration, Finance, Mothers Union and Children, Youth, Development office, Christian and Secular Education, Bible school, as a Training center. At present, The Diocese has three vehicles, one for the Bishop, and two for missionaries. The diocese has three staff houses, which are Bishops house, missionary and rest house. However there are two foundations which we intend to construct staff house and Hostel or Guest house.
GEORGRAPHICAL FEATURES AND LOCATIONOF THE DIOCESE
The Diocese of Kibondo is located in the northern part of Kigoma Region, in the western part of Tanzania. The Diocese lies between Latitude 3.9º South to 30 .5 º East. The Diocese lies at an altitude between 1000 and 1700 meters above sea level with an annual rainfall ranges between 600 mm. and 1600 mm.  About 66% of the total area of the Diocese is covered with Forest Reserve known as Moyowosi Game Reserve. The area is fertile to support agricultural activities. There are several rivers which are used mainly as a source of drinking water and irrigation, includes a famous river called Malagarasi.
TEMPERATURE
As regards to climatic conditions, Temperature ranges between 15ºC and 22ºC; Humidity ranges between 10% and 20% depending on the season. Rain season are more humid than dry seasons.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND Communication Services ( Roads, Electric Power supply
Roads- There is a main road that connects the area with other regions in Tanzania, and the neighboring countries of Rwanda and Burundi, The area has an airstrip, and two nearby airports, Kigoma and Mwanza. The nearest airport is Kigoma. The area has an access for Telephone, email, mobile phones and postal services. Other services includes bank services.

THE DIOCESAN FUTURE PLAN

The main priorities of the Diocese are Evangelism, Capacity Building, Education, Health services, Agriculture and Community Development. The diocese is committed to fulfill her mission and vision by implementing the above mentioned priorities in five years time. As her faithful response to the great commission of our lord Jesus Christ; so as to bring the Kingdom of God to the entire world. This will only be possible as we join hands with our dear brothers and sister whom we share the same mission and vision in the world. It is my hope that through the Anglican Communion and other Mission Societies; together much can be archived.
