CHURCH COMMUNITYT MOBILIZATION PROCESS-CCMP

Community and Churches Mobilisation Process (CCMP) was established in 2006 in Tanzania but 2019 in Kibondo after it was recognised that the area had fallen into a dependency on outside aid. CCMP aims to encourage local churches and communities to use their own resources and abilities to plan and implement sustainability projects rather than depending on outside assistance.

CCMP is a diocese programme funded by TEAR FUND. It has a paid co-ordinator who works under the diocese umbrella and a team of volunteer deanery coordinators in each village. Regular workshops are held to train and encourage local leaders to train, educate and pass on that training to others to equip all members of each community and church to be able to help themselves and each other without assistance from the outside. It encourages the local communities to be involved in the idea’s, planning and implementation of sustainability projects to encourage ownership of the task.

The impact of this project will be empowered churches and communities that are proactive, independent thinking and confident decision makers. They will be able to prioritise their needs and identify and mobilise their locally available resources to meet their needs without external funding. The Church and Communities will be in charge of their own destiny as they live life in its fullness inspired by the Word of God.

The areas of action include Spiritual Nurture, Health Care, Poverty Alleviation and Education which are interrelated and directly impact on the church and the wider community. Currently the project implemented in 5 parishes which are Kumsenga, Kibuye, Nyarugunga,Nyarugusu and Mabamba as starting areas in expectation of spreading  in a whole diocese.

CCMP works through the inspiration of God’s word and quotes Timothy 3:16-17 as its vision and mission statement ‘All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.’

Senior church leaders is the key bridge for CCMP process to be successful.
